Eden

I deliberately kept the instrumentation simple, allowing the flute and piano to carry the narrative through their interaction. The first section evokes the quiet beauty of nature, while the arrival of mist introduces a more ambiguous atmosphere and a sense of continued exploration. The flute and piano frequently echo and respond to one another, creating a musical dialogue reminiscent of sounds travelling through a valley. The piano’s changing harmonies provide much of the colour and atmosphere, while the flute guides the listener through the landscape.
