About the project

Blue Hour is an instrumental work for brass and woodwind ensemble, recorded at Angel Studios. Inspired by the fleeting atmosphere of the blue hour, the piece explores love and distance through a musical dialogue between instruments.

The central motif originated from my song “It’s YoU”, creating a connection between my orchestral and songwriting practices. I later sampled Blue Hour back into the song, allowing the two works to exist as different expressions of the same musical idea. The piece is built around exchanges between brass and woodwind instruments, with melodic fragments passed between different voices to create a sense of call and response—as if two people were communicating across thousands of miles. I focused on the natural clarity and warmth of the ensemble to create an atmosphere of emotional steadiness, while the evolving orchestration gradually develops the feeling of an intimate conversation across distance.
